Certifications

WFR, NAI CIGT, ACA Level 3 Instructor, Swiftwater Rescue Technician, AIARE Level 1

Trent Gould considers himself a grand generalist who enjoys windy hikes, sleeping in igloos, empty surf breaks at sunrise and reading the New York Times with a fresh cup of coffee. He originally hails from Southern California and spent his college years in Vermont obtaining a B.A. in Adventure Education and Wilderness Leadership.

Trent is lucky enough to own and operate Kayak Adventures Worldwide in Seward, Alaska. He’s also on the board of the Seward Wilderness Collective. Both venues provide him opportunities to find the intersectionality between purposeful tourism, climate change communication, and community education and engagement.

He has worked in the outdoor education and guiding business for the past 15 years. When not training guides, running courses, or guiding trips, you can find him working on his packrafting skills, going out on a long trail run, or spending time with his adventure pup, Miss Jones.
