I have been as an EMT for over 45 years now. First working in Barstow, California for an ambulance company for 7 years, and then going to the California Highway Patrol where I worked 8 years. I worked as an officer at both El Centro and Lake Arrowhead. I retired from the CHP . I then moved to Haines, Ak and worked with the Haines EMS as Captain for 20 years. They respond with all types of equipment such as snowmobile, rescue boat, small plane or helicopter. Due to the weather conditions, they can have a patient for over 24 hours. There are no roads to the nearest hospital in Juneau and there is a pass that closes for days between the Yukon hospital and us. I now teach full time, instructing EMT, Wilderness and Coast Guard classes

I have been teaching wilderness medicine since 2003. I enjoy teaching wilderness classes the most as you get to look at different disciplines and see how they differ in the equipment carried and therefore you need to change the train to meet their needs. My interests include outdoor activities especially hiking, camping, and traveling with her dogs.
