Raquel Garcia

Location

BC, Canada

Raquel has always been a very outdoorsy person. She spent her childhood summers exploring Canada while living in a VW Westfalia Van, and her winters filled with cross country skiing trips and snowboarding get-aways. She got her start in medicine by taking a baby sitting first aid course at the age of 12, and knew that this was the path she wanted to pursue.
At 18, she joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Medical Technician, and got the opportunity to live and work all over Canada. The last three years of her career were working in the NWT providing medical care for Joint Task Force North (JTFN). Since retiring from the CAF, Raquel has been working as an Avalanche Technician and Ski patrol in British Columbia, and has recently moved to Newfoundland where she will continue her career in Avalanche work, as well as Ski patrol. In the off season, you can find Raquel mountain biking, rock climbing, and multi-day canoe trips.
