Nancy Shipley Beaumont
Nancy brings extensive expertise to the outdoor industry, combining medical education with high-adventure leadership. Her journey in wilderness medicine began in the remote Exuma Islands of the Bahamas, where she assisted at her father’s medical clinic during her formative years. This early exposure laid the foundation for her career as an outdoor medical educator and adventure professional.
As an entrepreneur and outdoor leader, Nancy operates two distinctive adventure businesses: a High Adventure Sailing Charter company serving the U.S. East Coast and Bahamas, and a Remote Bear Viewing Lodge near Kodiak, Alaska, in Katmai National Park. Her leadership experience spans diverse outdoor disciplines, including sailing, rock climbing, caving, whitewater paddling, hiking, and wilderness camping.
Throughout her career, Nancy has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to emergency response and medical education. She has served as a first responder during numerous natural disasters, working alongside the National Guard, and has dedicated significant time to providing remote medical education. Her medical expertise has evolved from her early clinic experiences to becoming a National Registered Advanced EMT and an instructor for Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA).
Nancy’s unique combination of medical knowledge, outdoor leadership, and entrepreneurial success stems from a genuine passion for wilderness medicine and adventure. Her self-driven approach and warm personality continue to inspire both clients and colleagues in the outdoor industry.
