Brad Hamblin

Brad is a wilderness medicine instructor, expedition practitioner, and frontline emergency responder based in Alberta, Canada. He holds certifications as a Primary Care Paramedic, professional firefighter, and Community Peace Officer, with operational experience across emergency medical services, fire suppression, technical rescue, and search and rescue. His professional background spans both structured urban response systems and remote, resource-limited environments where sound judgment and adaptability are critical.

Brad brings extensive expedition and high-altitude experience to his teaching, including major mountaineering objectives such as Mount Aconcagua and Mount Kilimanjaro. He is passionate about developing competent, confident practitioners and emphasizes experiential learning, decision-making under pressure, and the why behind wilderness medicine protocols. As an instructor, Brad focuses on building strong clinical reasoning and leadership skills so students can safely manage medical problems when evacuation is delayed and help is far away.
