Axel is from Akureyri, Iceland where he works full-time as a professional Firefigter/EMT-A and also does air ambulance flights. He has been a member of ICE-SAR since 2005 and has been teaching for the ICE-SAR school since 2008. His focus in ICE-SAR has been technical rope rescue, first aid and swiftwater rescue. He took his WFR in 2009 and has been instructor for WMAI since 2017. Teaching for WMAI is one of his favorite things to do and wilderness rescue/medicine is a hugely growing interest of his. When he is not working or teaching, he loves to go for a trail/mountain run and ultra runs are his favorite.
