Cecily currently works as an emergency physician in Bangor, Maine. She got her introduction to wilderness medicine as a volunteer for a technical rescue team. She went on to work as a backcountry ranger for the National Park Service before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. After completing residency training in emergency medicine, she did a fellowship in emergency medication services. In addition to working in the emergency department, she is medical director for Acadia National Park, the local community college EMS program, and Vermont EMS Academy. She also continues to volunteer with Mount Desert Island Search and Rescue. When not working, Cecily can be found hiking, cross country skiing, and paddling.
