Christine Persaud
My professional trajectory began with leading canoeing, kayaking, winter camping and backpacking expeditions that ranged from two to sixty days in duration in remote locations in Canada with additional specialization in adventure therapy. It is this experience that facilitated my entry into the international humanitarian assistance sector in emergency response, negotiating safer humanitarian access and in managing the safety and security of aid workers and human rights defenders in some of our world’s most complex and dangerous situations caused by conflict and natural disasters.
Currently I am self-employed and continue in providing meaningful support to humanitarian and human rights organizations and in providing their personnel with critical safety and security training within the framework of Hostile Environment and First Aid Training (HEFAT). I am fully bilingual in French and English.
