Daniel is a medic, educator, researcher and disaster response professional specializing in wilderness and humanitarian medicine. He has been with WMA as an instructor for over 8 years and began his wilderness medical career as an expedition medic for commercial and professional high-altitude climbing expeditions in Nepal, Pakistan and Argentina. After responding to the 2015 Nepal earthquake, he went on to work with various NGOs in disaster and conflict settings all over the world, including Yemen, Ukraine, Iraq and Mexico. These days, when he is not teaching or leading humanitarian responses, he enjoys volunteering with his local street medicine and mountain rescue teams.
