Jill Weenink

Location

British Columbia, Canada

Jill has been in the emergency medical field since 2014. She has worked in remote and metro areas all over Alberta and BC as a Primary Care Paramedic. She found the outdoors a place to escape her work-life which led her to take the Adventure Guide Program at TRU. This program further developed her skills in remote backcountry environments. While attending the TRU program in Kamloops, BC she worked with a High Acuity Response Team. Her two passions collided when she was exposed to wilderness medicine and started teaching wilderness medical courses.

Currently, she is working towards obtaining her Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine while working on ambulance and for an advanced aeromedical rescue company. Although she travels a lot for work, she calls Nelson home.
