Kimberley Huisman

Kimberley Huisman has always had a passion for outdoor adventure. As a wilderness canoe guide for over 8 years, she enjoys helping people connect to and interpret the land and discover a love of nature. Kimberley has guided numerous trips through Canadian river systems in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon Territory. In the summers of 2021 and 2023, Kimberley guided groups of youth on two-month arctic expedition trips to Northern Yukon and Northwest Territories. Through her training and experiences ensuring the safety of her clients during remote exploration and providing wilderness medical care, Kimberley discovered a new passion for remote emergency medicine. In addition to WMA courses, Kimberley also instructs Whitewater Rescue Technician(WRT) and Ice Rescue courses. Kimberley has a BSc in Environmental Science and has recently returned to school to pursue a Bachelor of Education, specializing in high school math and science, with an additional qualification(AQ) in French. When not instructing wilderness courses or teaching, Kimberley can often be found on a trail by the river with her Saint Bernard pup, Pfeiffer.
