Owens Strawinski

Owens is a professional guide and outdoor educator. She currently works for the Northwest Outward Bound School instructing sea kayaking, rock climbing, mountaineering, and alpine backpacking courses. She has guided in places as far away as Chilean Patagonia and Acadia National Park, Maine. She has a B.A. in Psychology and Neuroscience, has a passion for mental healthcare, and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Nurse. As part of this long term goal Owens has worked as a nursing assistant with patients in a long term care setting, and utilizes her EMT-B skills in her work managing risk and incidents in the backcountry with clients and students. She can be found paddling between the rocks in Baja, climbing in the North Cascades, or playing mandolin under the stars of the desert Southwest.
