Pete Tilney, originally from Maine, is a recent transplant to upstate NY living outside of Albany. He is an emergency physician at Albany Medical Center and is actively involved with the helicopter EMS programs in eastern NY. Prior to becoming a physician, he worked as a flight paramedic for 5 years for LifeFlight of Maine. Pete has been an instructor for NOLS, and an educator the Island School in the Bahamas and Sea Education Association in the South Pacific. He enjoys running, kayaking, mountaineering, and skiing. He has climbed extensively in the lower 48. Other expeditions have included the South America, Northern Canada, and the Alaska Range including Denali. His current challenge is introducing his 8 month-old son, Max, to the outdoors. Pete began working for Wilderness Medical Associates in 2002.
