Tara Cross

Location

Pennsylvania, United States

Certifications

PA-C, EMT-B, WEMS, WALS

Tara is a Physician Assistant with experience in orthopedics and emergency medicine. Her career in medicine and outdoor adventure began when she took a WEMT course with WMA in 2004. Tara loves being an instructor of Wilderness Medicine and enjoys seeing how each student masters the important life saving skills learned during a course. She hopes that passing on this knowledge will allow people to adventure safely and to be prepared for any challenges along the way. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Tara spent many years as an expedition trip leader, environmental educator, and forester, throughout the US. She was an instructor and course director with Outward Bound in Northern Minnesota, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. She worked and volunteered as an EMT with local EMS, and with ski patrol. Despite keeping a busy schedule teaching WMA courses, she loves to have her own adventures in the outdoors. Her newest endeavor is boating on larger vessels and in bigger waters, but she still finds time to enjoy a paddle on a local creek or the Mighty Susquehanna.
