Certifications

Advanced Level Paramedic, RN, Wilderness Guide

Tiia is an Advanced Level Paramedic, Registered Nurse and Wilderness Guide from Finland, living in Norway. Her path with WMA started in 2017 when she participated in her first WAFA-course. Since then there has been a full career change and increasingly more intentional goal of gaining more knowledge and experience on both medical and outdoor fields – and also passing that forward so that others can enjoy remote locations more safely too.

Tiia completed one year long Wilderness Guide studies from Sámi Education Institute in 2019 and a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Nursing from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in 2024. Now she’s in the beginning of her healthcare career in Norway. In her freetime she can be found from the surrounding mountain areas year round. Her favourite ways of enjoying nature are trail running, hiking, moose and bird hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and ski expeditions. If she’s not alone on her trips – as even up to month-long solo trips are especially close to her heart – she’s usually accompanied by her boyfriend and dog.
