Full Course DescriptionAlt tuition price for students. This 8-day, 80-hour course from Wilderness Medical Associates provides the prerequisite training and certification necessary for employment as a professional outdoor instructor at nationally recognized programs such as NOLS and Outward Bound. The curriculum goes beyond the basics needed for first aid certification to emphasize the skills and knowledge needed in backcountry rescue situations when extended care may be needed.

Full Course DescriptionThis course is taught in English. The course site, Ciel et Bois, is 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa in Cantley, QC. The beautiful property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of backcountry where you can hike, run, bike, cross-country ski and connect with nature.

Course is based out of an eco-camp on the Pacuare River.
The 7-day program (5-day course) includes: professional instruction, comfortable lodging, all meals, guided rafting, and transport from San Jose onwards.
You need to be in good enough physical condition to raft and walk on steep and uneven terrain—but you don’t need any previous rafting experience.
