Join us in the mountains of Western Maine! Classes are hosted by Far Out Maine and take place at the Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation Mountain Center in Newry. Please visit Far Out Maine’s website for all the details and registration.
Folks are on their own for food and lodging. There are many options in the greater Bethel area. There is also plenty of space to pitch a tent or park a van. Coffee and hot water are provided throughout the day.
Full Course DescriptionThis course takes place at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre with great access to biking, hiking and ski trails.
Accommodation options: A) Camp onsite with your own gear for $19 per night and use the nearby showers and bathrooms. Cook your meals with your camping cookware. B) Book a cabin onsite or a nearby private hotel or Airbnb, C) Commute from home or elsewhere in the region.
All WFR’s are not the same. It matters who teaches your course.
Course Instructor: Jon Tierney from Acadia Mountain Guides, a WMAI Licensed Training Center. Jon is Flight Paramedic/RN, IFMGA Mountain Guide with over 35 years of real experience as a guide and emergency medical/rescue provider.

Take your wilderness skills to the next level in the outdoor mecca of the Eastern Sierra and support the Eastern Sierra Conservation Corps (ESCC). All net proceeds will be donated to the ESCC to help them continue their trail restoration work throughout California.
This course is being held at the Crowley Lake Community Center (15 miles south of the incorporated town of Mammoth Lakes, CA).
