Full Course DescriptionSanta Barbara is an outdoor coastal paradise with a charming Spanish flair. With access to the beach, mountains, and great food, this is an ideal place to learn your wild med skill set.
The class is sponsored by the University of California, Santa Barbara. UCSB Adventure Programs is proud to partner with Wilderness Medical Associates International to offer industry leading programs which are internationally recognized.
This course covers the same material and meets the same criteria as our standard Wilderness First Responder course. It is designed for students and professionals who have tight schedules and the self-discipline to complete approximately 25 hours of pre-course preparation.
Students will have access to the WFR Study Guide two to four weeks before the course starts. They are required to complete the assigned reading, case studies, study guide, and tests. The on-site instruction that follows reinforces and expands on the knowledge already acquired through your pre-course work.

This course is taught in English. The course site, Ciel et Bois, is 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa in Cantley, QC. The beautiful property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of backcountry where you can hike, run, bike, cross-country ski and connect with nature.
Full Course DescriptionTuition cost will increase to $800 on Jan 1, 2025. Camp on site or stay in a heated yurt for $20/night including showers and full kitchen.

Most of our students capitalize on the numerous dispersed camping options the Eastern Sierra has to offer!
This course is being held at the Crowley Lake Community Center (15 miles south of the incorporated town of Mammoth Lakes, CA).
