High-Altitude Training in Peak-Season Terrain
Summer brings long days and big objectives in the mountains surrounding Heber City. Training here means exposure to altitude, heat, and remote terrain that mirrors real summer travel in the Uintas and central Wasatch. The setting supports extended scenarios and realistic evacuation considerations without sacrificing accessibility.
Course is offered in beautiful Boulder, CO. World-class climbing, hiking, skiing and so much more are available just outside the classroom.

Full Course DescriptionOur 2-Day Wilderness First Aid course includes CPR and is taught at our beautiful private facility bordering National Forest. Lodging available on site in cabins, yurts, or camp on site depending on the season. Other lodging options available in nearby town of Buena Vista, daily bus service from Denver and available shuttle to the course site. Backcountry Lifeline’s Education Director holds a Masters Degree in Education and has over 35 years experience as an outdoor professional.
Full Course DescriptionMeals and lodging are not included in your course tuition. A range of accommodations are available at AMC’s Harriman Outdoor Center during your program, and meals are also available for purchase. Participants may reserve lodging and meals at a discounted rate while attending the course. Full Course DescriptionLodging is available at the course site in heated yurts or camp on site with access to showers and kitchen. Our property is on a private ranch that borders National Forest, but is only ten minutes from town. Bus service from Denver and available shuttle to the course site.
