Scott Sabo

Scott is a Forest Ranger for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, living and working in the Adirondack Park. He has been a search and rescue professional for over a decade, working throughout the lower 48 states in the wildest places he can find. He is currently a swiftwater rescue instructor, wildland fire squad boss, and a lead instructor for the Forest Rangers “tracking for search and rescue” program. When not working in the wilderness, Scott can be found playing in it. Canoeing, rafting, camping, backpacking, skiing, and chasing trout.


Trevor Page

Trevor grew up running through the forests with Scouts, and completed a stint in the Army Reserve as a 'young lad'. He left to explore the world a bit and learn at University but returned to the woods to become a professional wilderness guide, primarily leading backcountry canoe trips and dogsled expeditions. These days he teaches others how to play safely in the bush as a Wilderness Safety and Survival Instructor in Manitoba. In his spare time, he's a member of the local Fire Department, Ground Search and Rescue, and Civil Air Search and Rescue Association - or at home reading about the things he teaches. Tryggvi Hjortur Oddsson

Tryggvi is from Selfoss, Iceland and has been a member of ICE-SAR since 2007 and is now team captain of Selfoss SAR team. He received his EMT-B certificate in 2010 and finished his W-EMT upgrade in 2011. Tryggvi has been teaching first aid to ICE-SAR members since 2012.  He now works as a nurse in Reykjavík University Hospital emergency room where he has been working since he started nursing school in 2012.  Tryggvi's main focus of search and rescue has been general SAR and first aid with a touch of rope and swift water rescue. He now mainly focuses on commanding search and rescue operations as a member of his counties area command unit. 


Paul Marcolini

Paul began working for Wilderness Medical Associates in 1981. He is one of the original instructors, and served as Executive Director for 5 years in the early 90’s. He is a paramedic and has worked for ground, rotor and fixed-wing EMS programs. He is the past chair of Maine EMS Education Committee. Paul has over 17 years of experience with Outward Bound, is a member of Mahoosuc Mountain Search and Rescue, and a board member of Franklin County Search and Rescue. For eight seasons he worked as a volunteer climbing ranger for the National Park Service on Denali, and was the Co-coordinator for EMS in the mountaineering program for Denali National Park, their Quality Improvement Coordinator, and Medical Volunteer Coordinator. Paul also teaches NREMT courses for Rainier, and Acadia National Parks. He has also presented in International Emergency Medical Conferences in Bolivia, Costa Rica and Vietnam. In addition to working for WMA and guiding, he currently coordinates Quality Improvement for Tri-County EMS, Maine. Paul is an avid climber, ski tours, with his huskies and works as seasonal climbing guide. Paul lives in Greenwood, Maine and Shelburne, Vermont.


Sigrun Petursdottir

Sigrún is from Iceland. She lives in Reykjavik where she works as a nurse at emergency department in at Landspitali University Hospital. Sigrún has been a member in a volunteer rescue teams since 1993 and since 2013 she has been a lead instructor in the Icelandic Search and Rescue School in first aid. She likes mountaineering and cross country skiing. 


Kenneth Cross

Kenny has been an avid outdoorsman all of his life. Growing up on an island in the Chesapeake Bay allowed for many adventures on land and water. Phil Rach

After a 20-year career as a Paramedic and Wilderness EMT instructor at Cornell University, Phil recently moved back to his native land of Wisconsin. He is now an EMS education specialist at Hennepin County Medical Center. Phil spends the majority of his free time fishing, hunting, and enjoying outdoor activities with his family.


Jessica Jeffery

Jessica is a nurse at a private boarding middle school in the Adirondacks.  She has been a ski patrioller and back-country caretaker.  She spends her free time surfing,skiing, skateboarding, and climbing with her husband and son.


Aimee Bills

Aimee is a New York State Forest Ranger residing North of the Catskill Mountains.  Throughout her life, she has spent the majority of her free time recreating in the great outdoors. She studied Environmental Science in college and turned her passion into a career where she can call the woods her “office”. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her young family, hiking, boating, camping and traveling. Aimee will be joining her local ambulance company as an EMT


Amy Attivissimo

Amy is an WEMT and works part-time for Pridecare EMS as an NREMT-B in Southwest Michigan. She holds a masters degree in Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience. She is a Ski Patroller and teaches snowboarding and toboggan skills. When it's not snowing, Amy is the lead Advanced Freefall Program (AFP) Instructor at Skydive Chicago helping many new students learn to skydive, build skills, and earn licenses. She holds a USPA (United States Parachute Association) D license, PRO rating, Coach, AFF, and Tandem Ratings, She is an International Bodyflight Association (IBA) tunnel coach and has competed in USPA nationals for many years in formation skydiving. In her free time she goes to mountain biking, rock climbing, and plays outside.
