Amol Kulkarni

Amol has been an instructor with Wilderness Medical Associates since 2011. He entered the medical field in 2006 with a Masters in Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery from Chennai, India. After two years of teaching and clinical practice, he then took these skills to Tanzania, East Africa where he continues to work as a consultant surgeon in this field, as well as supporting various emergency evacuation services within the region. In between patients, Amol runs courses for WMA teaching wilderness medicine to the Mt Kilimanjaro guides, safari guides, international schools, remotely-placed lodges, and local businesses. He can also be found regularly climbing Mt Kilimanjaro as an expedition medic for various groups as well as traveling with safari documentary film crews and adventure sports trail groups. In Tanzania, Amol is a consultant for Savanna Medics Ltd and a volunteer Doctor for the Flying Medical Service.


C. Brian Gee

Brian currently lives in Grand Rapids, MI where he works as a registered nurse. Previously, he spent 10 years in Crested Butte, CO working as a professional ski patroller and with the Crested Butte Fire Protection District's EMS system. Crested Butte's abundant extreme terrain provided an ideal and challenging environment in which to practice wilderness medicine. Brian's many experiences with patients in adverse conditions along with his love for the outdoors motivated him to pursue a career with WMA in 2006, he has been a lead instructor since 2008. Included in his repertoire of outdoor adventures, Brian spent a winter season patrolling in Courchevel, France and has worked as a climbing guide in Canada. When not working or teaching somewhere in the US, Brian loves to peruse his passion for the outdoors by skiing, biking, climbing, or camping—hopefully in the mountains.


Kuo Feng Huang

Kuo Feng has a Masters in Nursing at Taipei Medical University. He has devoted himself to the ER for more than 10 years. He enjoys hiking and spending his time in nature. Due to his passion for the outdoors and medicine, he is trying to encourage people to practice Wilderness Medicine in everyday contexts and to help each other in the wild.
